The Transformation – 1

ps. that is not me in the picture “Not having heard of it is not as good as having heard of it.Having heard of it is not as good as having seen it.Having seen it is not as good as knowing it.Knowing it is not as good as putting it into practice.” Transformation means changing form. In the fitness industry everything is about transformation. It may be reducing body fat, gaining muscle mass, moving better, moving faster, moving further, all aspects of fitness are just stressing your body so it can change in some way. I have a lot of…

Wandering Soul – 11 May 2020

Good morning. I hope but also trust that you are well. I hope you enjoyed mother’s day yesterday. I often find that set days for commemoration are conflicting for me. They have a sense of a future or past date to gratitude, yet they are also a day of intense reflection and celebration. Let each moment in our lives be a moment of gratitude and love. When it is the designated mother’s day, father’s day, birthday or any other anniversary, let us express that gratitude and love in the best way we can. You are Love and You are Loved.…

Wandering Soul – 02 May 2020

Good morningI hope the week went well with the 2 public holidays. A holiday in the context of our current circumstances may have had a different meaning. The days again offered an opportunity to reflect and widen perspectives. Most of us are in a place of fear which manifests in mild (irritation) and sometimes serious (shouting, violence) ways. We are afraid of losing something, income, movement, physical appearance, sports performance, service provision and work, relationships and many other things that were used to identify us when things were “normal”. In the past month we may have noticed that despite the…

Money Trap!

Our president put it perfectly “Our people need to work; our people need to eat”. If eating is really all we need to do, then here are 2 statistics that will tell you that no matter how smart or hard people work they will continue to eat crumbs. The top 1% of South African earners take home almost 20% of all income in the country, while the top 10% take home 65%. The remaining 90% of South African earners get only 35% of total income. The wealthiest 1% owns 67% of all the country’s wealth. The top 10% owns 93%.…

Wandering Soul – 20 April 2020

Good Morning When the President announced the first period of the lockdown, most of us made pacts with ourselves. We joined 21 day challenges and decided to become better people in one or more aspects of our lives. The external stimulus of a forced hibernation had us aspiring to do things. It is also very likely that our 21 day challenges ended at about 5-7 days. Don’t despair, you are still breathing and every moment is a chance to recreate oneself. The lockdown was just another trigger for introspection, just as death or any event we consider loss or failure.Goals…

Wandering Soul – 13 April 2020

Good morning. Don’t miss out on your own objectives. Every action builds habit. When you choose to do nothing, you are not static in your quest. You are actually building a habit of doing nothing. This means you are going backwards. Life is never still, it is going one way or another. Let’s get up and do our very best towards our own goals. Have a wonderfilled week.

Wandering Soul – 09 April 2020

Good morning.I hope you are well.In the words of Rainer Maria Rilke ” I beg you, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”

Warm Up Sequence – Ntatemogolo

While I was thinking up a warm up sequence that anyone could follow, I got some inspiration from 2 sources; 1. Listening to my kids doing “Head, shoulders, knees and toes”2. A song we used to sing in primary school or creche So I decided to spice up this nursery rhyme. I added some other moves to give an all round warm up. Have some fun teaching the kids this one while getting ready for your workout

Wandering Soul – 06 April 2020

Good Morning I hope you are doing well! Today’s motivation comes from one of my favourite artists, Whitney Houston. A song written by Albert Louis Hammond & John Bettis. The theme song for the 1988 summer Olympics, “One Moment in Time” “Give me one moment in time. When I’m more than I thought I could be. When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away, and the answers are all up to me” To elaborate would blunt such powerful words.Have a wonderfilled moment/day/week… You are Love, and You are Loved
