Training Made Easy – Education

Knowledge for me is a combination of learning and an application of the learning.

We walk into many situations blindly, with the hope of our desired outcomes. Sometimes we grind out results with trial, lots of errors and maximum effort.

For every fitness, health or wellness goal, it would help to know the basic framework relating to that goal.  An example would be weight loss.
Most people define fat loss as weight loss. The departure point is already slightly flawed.

For this article I am going to use fat loss as an example.
The goal is what will lead the process. Setting the goal correctly is half the battle.

Let’s say the goal is:
To reduce body fat percentage from 30% to 25% in the next 6 months by;

1. Exercising 3-5 times a week,
2. Adhering to a minimally processed, wholefood diet with a caloric deficit of 500Cal a day,
3. Sleeping at least 7 hours every night,
4. Reducing stress by being more aware and learning to relax.

This seems a comprehensive goal setup, yes it is! It is so because each part of it is evidence based. To reach the goal, the above objectives and others must be addressed. The objectives are in themselves mini-goals with tasks to complete.

Educating yourself on each task and objective is the primary task before trying to make any changes. During the process, one must continue to take stock and make adjustments as required.

There are statements that cover the general population but always remember, There is no One Size Fits All. Talk to a professional, read books, read articles from reputable sources and most importantly listen to your body.
